About me:
I’m Laura Gibson-Lamothe. I’ve spent more than 20 years in banking, payments, fintech and risk, with Bank of America, Wachovia/Wells Fargo, Ally Bank, Protiviti and Featurespace (now part of Visa). These days, I’m also a creator. I use video, visuals and storytelling to make financial services easier to understand and more interesting to follow. I host Fintech Talks, where I interview people building across the industry, and I turn those conversations into content people actually want to watch and read.
What drives all of it is the next generation. I lead the Georgia Fintech Academy, a statewide University System of Georgia initiative that connects college students with careers in fintech, payments, banking and financial services. I want students and early-career professionals to see this industry clearly: where it’s going, what it needs, and where they fit.
My work puts me between the industry and the people who will soon lead it. I hear what’s changing inside companies well before it shows up in a job description. This is where I share it.
